Foxhounds Prints

THE TRADITIONAL HANDSOME Foxhound has rarely been regarded as a household pet. In the United States of America the breed has been treated as a genuine show dog over the years in small numbers but is only occasionally seen in the show ring in Britain.

Most adult Foxhounds are maintained in kennels in packs by one or other of the hunts; the puppies are ‘walked’ through their growing period by hunt-supporters in order that they should become part socialised. As a breed they have to be recognised as being relatively large and determined; discipline is not their strong point.

They are registered with the Kennel Club irregularly on the basis of reciprocal agreements with masters of recognised hunts. The breed may well make a greater impact in the show ring in the future.
